A) what problems do you think India will face in the future?
India is currently debating the issue of overpopulation. This has been as issue for a number of years in India, but in recent years a solution to this issue has become a lot more urgent. Another issue in Shanty towns- The indian government wants to clear these towns that house millions of people to make room for new buildings, which will, in turn, leave residents of these towns homeless. India is also still a developing country. Equality will soon become an issue as the castes are heavily divided, and wealth in unevenly distributed.
B) CHOOSE ONE AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU THINK IT WOULD BE AN ISSUE
A pressing issue being debated at the moment is whether to clear Dharavi- a shanty town (slum). This tiny area is home to a whole city, and the government wants to clear the town so that they can build high rises. If this happens, a large percentage of these people will be left homeless. The government needs to find a way that they can still expand their cities without evicting millions of people from their homes.
